Dear Mr. Anwar
This is in reference your discussion with American
Embassy officers Mr. Horn, Qureshi and
on 30 June on the matter of communications
resquircuuentu for the Eubausy o4 n r dio monitoring
pro ect. in response to your regqute,st, following are
the specific technical oomwuxiciati.ons requirements
needed for this project;
1. Two each 4-wire voice grade lines to be wade
available at house No. 47, Street No. 11, Shalimar
6/3, Islamabad.
2. Lines are to be used for transmitting audio from
receivers and recorders from Islamabad to London.
___ Output ijupedanue of equipment is 600 Ohms. Audio
will be fed at 0 Pb level or ravel raqutred by PTT.
3. Liiivp are for 24 hours per day, seven days ae week
uses.
4. Audio is to be relayed from location in Islamabad
via voice grade lines to PTT facilities for onward
relay to satellite ground station in Karachi.
5. We would like PTT to be reppoxeisible for line testing
and continuity of circuits to satellite terminal and
our office location in Islamabad.
When audio signal is not being fed, we would require
two-way "talk" capability on one line.
7. Arr.angun-jant5 for leasing so ellite channels to Loncloj'1
and tor poopur oonneotiox-s in the United Kingdom will
be leach by Department of State Uf f ices in Washinrlton
and Lox~dyn.
6. Two lines for }anal telephone service.
