Attached is the breakdown we projected for coverage
during my trip. With some changes as a result of
developments after my return, such as the emergence of
FVOI and Radio Iran. Of course there will have to be
a lot of give and take on this, so this is just a
tentative outline--not "cast in concrete."
feels that Tehran Arabic might well be
more than Gulf could handle, given its projected Arabic
staff of three and all of the other Arabic coverage
projected for it. They might well be right, so Gulf
might want to plan on that being the last Arabic
coverage to assume--if staffing permits. .
sees "no chance" that Gulf Bureau reception
will allow it to assume full coverage of Pakistan, and
is adamantly. opposed to Gulf splitting Karachi coverage
