SUBJECT: ODP Long-Range Plan for 1981-1987
In the quiet of Sunday afternoon I had the oppor-
tunity to read through the new Long-Range Plan and I
must say I am very pleased with the product. I know
that there have been some developments which have
called into question some of the specific computer
moves which had originally been identified, but given
the dynamic nature of ODP, it will always be dif-
ficult to avoid this sort of thing. It should not
divert our attention from the observable fact that this
year's Plan builds upon and is a marked improvement
over previous such efforts. The text is clear and
literate, and the contents are more comprehensive than
ever before. I think it is a document that we can all
be proud of and one which represents this office very
well indeed. My thanks to all who contributed, and
most especially tol for his key role.
