2. Description of Assistance
Provide briefings, documentation, and software to the above
agencies in connection with the latest release (4.2B) of GIMS
software. ODP Instruction 10-1-78, Release of Magnetic Media
Outside of CIA, will be complied with.

5. Basis for Activity
The Office of Data Processing supports a wide community of
GIMS users within the Central Intelligence Agency. As a
result we have developed a support structure for the config-
uration of new software releases. Other agencies should
benefit from our work.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is preparing to
convert some of its operating systems from OS/MVT to MVS. Before this
ca,.i be accomplished, the FBI will need an MVS version of the GIM-II
software. Consequently, I am requesting the following be provided to
Computer Systems Analyst, Technical Services
1. A copy of the GIM-Il software which runs under MVS.
2. Any support programs which would be beneficial in
the accounting/maintenance/utilization statistics.
3. Any documentation concerning changes or enhancements
since our last release of 4.1A.

GIA-II User's meeting to discuss the new release and its capabilities,
- is looking forward to discussing the arrangement with you at
yoar earliest convenience.
