I believe my Dputy, Mr.2aianick, has discussed this with you. imet an untimely death in a bicycling accident on his way to work on 18 toveer 1976. more than any other single person, he was responsible for developing the CIA centralized computer facility as well as developing the pro- fassional skills of the people ho com rise :our computer STATINTL organization. For many years, had been a "pace-- setti.ng pioneer in the use of compu.tora in the Intelligence Community. Ilia contributions to the Federal Govern ent, data processing, and his cos=unity are numerous and outstanding. We believe that naming our main Computer Center for would be a fitting tribute to this outstanding man and a lasting meraorial of his achievements . I therefore request that you approve naming the Computer Center located in room CIA Headquarters Building, Langley, Virginia, thel COMPUTER CENTER, and also approve placing an appropriately worded plaque at the entrance of this Computer Center.
