As you may recall from the Interagency Committee on ADP conference at
Airlie House earlier this year, the exchange and sharing of software was
considered to be one of the greatest unmet needs among Federal ADP
units. Since publication of the FPMR for the Federal Software Exchange
Program on February 25, 1976, the Federal Software Exchange Center has
received approximately 300 abstracts toward the development: of the
Federal Software Exchange Catalog. In order to meet our target publi-
cation date of January 1977, all Forms 185 describing software that you
would like to see in the first catalog, must be received by October 15,
1976. Those forms received after this date will be processed for in-
clusion in subsequent addenda.
Please spread the word as rapidly as possible among the ADP installations
in your agency to promote the publication of as much common use software
as possible in the first edition of the catalog. I look forward to your
cooperative participation in this new program.
