Chief, Special Projects Staff/ODP
SUBJECT: Special Projects Staff Weekly Report -
ending 24 June 1977
a. Permission of the DCI is being requested
to open the SAFE Design Competition Phase bids which
are due in the Agency by close of business 27 June.
The evaluation time is critically short this Fiscal
year and a significant delay would jeopardize the
procurement.
b. has been selected as the Agency
representative to the IC Staff's SAFF/ADISS working
group. The Project Office will support him in this
activity.
c. The SAFE Source Selection Board, in its
initial meeting, approved the proposal evaluation
plan and set the format and agenda for the selection
process.
2. ADSTAR:
a. Answers to a third set of questions from
bidders were prepared and mailed this week.
b. Representatives from PRC inspected a set
of unclassified microforms.

3. TADS:
a) The integration of the TINTL
with the TADS Graphics Console has been delayed a
week. The delay is due to late arrival of a hardware
STATINTL expansion box from No schedule problems are STATINTL
STATINTL anticipated from this delay.
b) Another graphics working session between
=and Government representatives was held at the
Ames Building 23 June 1977. These working sessions
have proven to be mutually beneficial for both
and the Government.
c) The two generated documents, User
Environmental Comman s and Data Base Commands, were
wed by the Government and comments returned. to
d) The sysgen activities for TADS on both the
IBM 360 and DEC PDP 11/34 are continuing with Govern-
ment assistance provided for both efforts.
4. RAPID:
a) Three partial design and plan documents
have been reviewed by

to the contractor.
b) The President of the contractor firm
informed us the Program Specifications Review Mile-
stone (originally scheduled for 22 April 1977 and
revised to 24 June 1977) will now probably be met in
November 1977. A letter from the Contractor outlining
the change is being studied with PD/OL and
