Amdahl Computer Replacement for IBM
A contract was signed with the Amdahl Corporation for
procurement of a 470/V6-II computer. This computer is
scheduled to begin acceptance tests on or before 26er
1977 and is scheduled to replace the IBM 360/195. ) STATINTL
Minicomputer Procurement Concurrence for OSO
STATINTL Under guidance of ODP reviewed and concurred
in an OSO procurement of four minicomputers to be used in
both Headquarters and the field. In conjunction with this
procurement, OSO is establishing the PDP 11 series of mini-
computers as the OSO standard. STATINTL
Benchmark for NPIC RFP-3-78A
ODP received and read into one of its computers the
NPIC benchmark data for RFP-3-78A. This Request for Purchase
of five minicomputers was a fully competitive procurement,
concurred by ODP and released by OL. STATINTL

ODP Surplus Equipment
ODP and OWI are discussing the use of ODP projected
surplus equipment in FY 1978. During FY 1978 ODP is scheduling
to provide an IBM 360/65-1 computer, disk, and unit record
equipment t
This equipmen will replace current OWI
equivalent equipment leased by Transfer of this equipmentSTATINTL
and purchase of required peripherals will result in a savings
to the U. S. Government of approximate) 450K over the
estimated five year systems life. STATINTL
IBM Maintenance Contract Renewal
Sole source justification for the IBM maintenance contract
was written and submitted to OL. Under the FY 1978 GSA schedule,
IBM provides a 10% discount to October billings if contract
renewal for a fiscal year is completed before 16 December.
This discount amounts to an approximate $13K savings for the
ODP contract.
Joint OL/ODP MBO Meeting
Plans are being formulated for a joint OL/ODP meeting
regarding tt OL/ODP MBO Objectives covering procurement
requests.
ODP FY 1980 Program Plan
ODP received the FY 1980 Program Plan from the Office
of the Comptroller and the DDA has scheduled a meeting regarding
this on 4 January 1978.
