SUBJECT SPS Weekly Report for Week Ending
2 December 1977
A. The Consolidated SAFE Project Management Plan
and Memorandum of Understanding were submitted to each Agency
on 30 November 1977. These documents were forwarded to the
DCI and D/DIA via the D/ODP, A/DDA and A/DDCI and the System
Planning Office (SP) and Vice Director for Production (VP),
respectively.
B. On 30 November 1977, GE (one of the SAFE Design
Competition Contractors) visited the Agency to present their
approach for the Design of the SAFE System.
C. On 1 December, members of SAS/OCR and SPS/ODP
presented a SAFE familiarity briefing to the proposed DIA
SAFE personnel and the DIA contractors tasked under the DIA
System Definition Study.
D. On 1 December, members of SPS/ODP and HEB/RECD/OL
met with the SAFE Computer Site Architectural and Engineering
Contractor to initiate discussions on physical requirements.
2. RAPID

A. The A/DDA has received assessments of the management
and performance of the contractural effort from ODP, OGC, OL, and
DDS&T. A decision is expected soon concerning future contractural
actions.

B. The long awaited "System Structure Document,"
describing RAPID's to level design, has been received. It STATINTL
is being reviewed by and the undersigned. So
far it seems quite satisfactory.

A. Critical Design Review IV - Part I for Graphics
and Database Subsystems was held 2 December 1977.
B. The remainder of TADS contract personnel, presently
STATINTL housed in has begun relocation to Ames BBuilding.
This move should be completed by 9 December 1977.
C. The PERT analysis of TADS summary schedule is
continuing. The logic phase of the analysis has been completed
for the majority of the data.
D. The procurement of six additional work stations
for TADS is progressing smoothly. The action request for
the procurement has been signed by Mr. May. The Office of
Logistics is awaiting the receipt of the auditor's report.

4. ADSTAR
A. Coordination of the ADSTAR Management Plan was
completed this week.
B. Discussions were initiated with members of the Systems
Group/SPS/ODP concerning the SAFE/ADSTAR Interface.
STATINTL
C. now has eight employees at the Reston location
and six employees in New Jersey working full time on ADSTAR. STATINTL
STATINTL D . met with -representatives
to discuss the Conversion u system.
E. PRC requested a copy of the ADSTAR contract via the
STATINTL Freedom of Information Act.
