The proposal describes preliminary conclusions about Federal requirements for data dictionary software. Also distributed for comment, was a National Bureau of Standards draft COBOL Standard revision. (U/AIUO) Regulations ODP concurred without comment on the following proposed STAT Management Staff Distributed for comment a GSA proposal to amend the Federal Property Management Regulations. The amendment would require all COBOL, FORTRAN, and BASIC compilers acquired by the government, and those used by contractors, be in compliance with Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS). Featured were presentations by FOCUS developers and vendor Information Builders Inc. FOCUS, a RAMIS like DBMS, provides features and capabilities which, the vendor claims, expand its user base to include applications which require the manipulation of data represented hierarchically in addition to the RAMIS "flat record" approach. The session, one of a series, was informative and provided input to planning efforts directed toward providing tools help shift program development to the user. (U/AIUO) 1983 Congressional Budget Justification Book (CBJB) We have received dates for our submissions for the 1983 CBJB. Because of stringent deadlines, material must be provided before a final budget amount is determined. Our initial submission, activities descriptions and justification, is due 20 November 1981. Supporting photographs are due 25 November 1981 and resource exhibits and the identification of FY 1983/1982 changes are due 14 December 1981.
