philosophy is that if a series or type of report is indexed better elsewhere,
we do not have , to include it in the Intellofax System. Another criteria

The Intelligence Subject Cod was a- CIA product, with some Defense
changes incorporated in the. military sentions. Punching was straight
numerical and nd 'clear text was added.
The Nov 1960 edition is a, USIB product an.d,represents the combined
needs of CIA and the Defense agencies, primarily.
A new Intellofax System ww,s. i,ntnoduced using the revised ISC,
adopting clear text for abbreviations, of organizations of intelligence
interest and for kayword i odif'iers, and consequent preparatim of
Dictionaries (Thesauri). The latter (use of clear text art! Dictionaries)
was result Minicard ea riment of 1958 after which it was determined
by management not to adopt Minicard equipment bu tb. benefit. by some
of the improvements learned through the experiment.
