This may imply a increased role for the party which has been in the background during the first several weeks of martial law. The meeting may also clarify the fate of regional party leaders and wiII surely provide a forum for font t ing between party h.trdl iners, moderates, and liberals. Reuters reports that the sixth bulletin issued by Solidarity and reaching the West on 4 lanuary stressed that there was increased resistance within the army to the crackdown on Solidarity.
