SUMMARY: (S/NOFORN/WNINTEL) This report provides information concerning the 16 March
1982 Costa Rican OIJ seizure of 47 M-16s and 53 other assorted US and foreign made weapons
from the residence of Luis Arena ((ROMERO)) and others (NFI).
DETAILS:
(S/NOFORN/WNINTEL) On 16 March 1982, CS OIJ raided the residence of ROMERO in San Jose,
CS and seized 47 M-16s and 53 other assorted US and foreign made weapons. Some of these
weapons were marked with US Government proof marks. Others were equipped with silencers.
