SUBJECT Meeting with Secretary Shultz,
29 October 1982
1. The agenda for your meeting with Secretary Shultz for
tomorrow at noon includes the following:
-- Lebanon.
Results of Hassan Visit/PLO Initiative. You
may wish to discuss what
learned regarding Hassan's discussions with the
President during which he sought a formulation
for initiating US-PLO contacts. Shultz may
very well have additional information.
Pakistan--Nuclear Program. This is a State requested
agenda item simulate by the recent Walters discussions
and cables from Ambassador Spiers. People at State
apparently want to assess whether, in fact, there
is anything else that can be done to obtain additional
information on Pakistani activities. 25X1

you the latest assessment of where he comes out.

you requested on the status of other countries'
efforts to produce nuclear weapons.
Cuban--Central America. You (DDCI) said that you
wished to discuss some preliminary thoughts with
Shultz on the NSC review of our Cuban policy.
Included are some thoughts from Dewey and some
talking points which you requested on the situation
in El Salvador and Nicaragua.
3. Because you (DDCI) indicated that you preferred
not to give a run down on your trip 25X1
I did not put it on the agenda. I am sure, nevertheless
that Shultz would be interested, particularly in th
situation and the impact on our
u ure planning.
