The following items have been proposed for your agenda: Lebanon. First you may wish to brief Weinberger Net Assessment. You may wish to inform Secretary Weinberger of the results of F- 7 25X1 discussions with Andy Marshall regarding the ABM net assessment. (FYI - summary volume of the ABM NIE was disseminated today). Accordingly you may wish to engage Weinberger in a discussion of his forthcoming recommendations on MX basing. I have included the Getler article from today's Post, as well as the recent article in Aviation Week, which discusses the options and the analyses of Soviet reaction. As you probably already know, the WSSIC and OSWR have provided support to the Air Force and have briefed various defense officers and the Townes panel on our estimate of Soviet capabilities to counter the Dense Pack Scheme. You probably will want to brief Weinberger on the points you made to the President yesterday when you presented his copy of the President's Report on US and Soviet military forces. The copies for Weinberger and Carlucci were sent over early this morning so he should be in receipt of the final product. You may wish to mention also to Weinberger that you will receive a briefing from the NRO next week on the survivability of US satellites. IPC Third World Seminar. You may wish to brief Weinberger also on your presentation this morning to the IPC Third World seminar and in case he has not seen it, you may wish to show him a copy of the OGI (fold-out) on Soviet presence in the Third World. Radio Marti. You may wish to bring to Weinberger's attention the two recent reports on Cuban plans to counter Radio Marti with their Radio Lincoln. You may also wish to pass on to him what you learned today I iregarding the status of the 25X1 insurgency in El Salvador. Hopefully that infor- mation will appear in tomorrow morning's publications. A copy of the South Com assessment is also included for your reference. 2. Please let me know if there is anything else you wish to have for this-meeting.
