SUBJECT Today's Meeting on Scope of Soviet Export Sanctions
1. As you know, we have just received the agenda and background papers
for today's meeting. They call for decisions on various aspects of the

passed copies of the paper to the DCI and the Global Issues 25X1
people in DDI. I have invited and the Director to call you 25X1
directly if they have any comments worth passing on. If I get anything
from the,DDI, I will call you as well.
2. The other material in the package is largely current reporting on
the situation in Poland which was about all we could pull together before
we knew what the thrust of the meeting would be. I have also included this
morning's developments on a couple other topics of continuing current interest.
3. Point 4 of the agenda deals with possible longshoreman boycott of
grain shipments. I am sending down to you the material I have on file for the
meeting you attended on the 19th on the grain embargo subject.
4. I hope this last-minute scrambling will prove to be useful to you.
