The Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee has
been reviewing an enforcement matter at the Securities.
and Exchange Commission (SEC). Stanley Sporkin, the
current CIA General Counsel, was the Director of
Enforcement at the SEC when this matter was investi-
gated.--:. Therefore, the Subcommittee has requested that
Mr. Sporkin testify on this matter on Monday, February
8, 1982. His testimony is important to ti'e Subcom-
mittee's inquiry.
I will assure you that. no matters involving his
present position will be discussed at the hearing.
