I 25X1 20 wary 1982 Chief, Legislative 25X1 om-Latimer, HPSCI Staff Director, met with the DDCI informally a couple of days ago. The DDCI mentioned to Mr. Latimer a report which had been prepared for the SSCI. last March on the Soviet Union profiting from technology transfer. The DDCI later identified the document to me as having been prepared by for Chairman 25X1 Goldwater and carrying the classification Top Secret/Codeword. Mr. Latimer has requested this document be forwarded to HPSCI if this has not been done. In addition, Tom Latimer said a HPSCI briefing on this subject might be in order and that several HPSCI Members would.,surely be interested. When this subject was discussed with the DDCI, he approved the idea of a HPSCI briefing and suggested the Executive Director,.Mr. McMahon, and be the 25X1 briefers. I f I ease get me the document for transmittal to HPSCI and inform that HPSCI will be wanting a formal briefing.
