Thank you for your 19 October 1982 letter to Bill Casey inviting
a Central Intelligence Agency spokesperson to present an assessment
of the state of the Soviet economy and its prospects before the Joint
Economic Committee. We would be very pleased to brief the Committee
in executive session. Mr. Henry S. Rowen, Chairman of the National
Intelligence Council, will represent the Agency before the Committee.
