SUBJECT: Nomination of Treasury Members to the
NSCIC and the 14SCIC Working Group
1. Attached at Tab A is a letter for your signature to
the Secretary of the Treasury, asking him to nominate a mber
to the NSCIC and also'inviting him to designate a member to the
NSCIC Working Group. This letter responds to your decision on
my note to youtf 6 November, attached at Tab B.
2- This has been discussed with 1 -1 who recommended 25X1
that you suggest to Mr. Shultz that his Deputy Secretary would oe
an appropriate member for the NSCIC, but that: you leave an opening
in case the Secretary wishes to nominate Hal Sonnenfeld, assuming
he gets confirmed as an Under Secretary.
3. Bill also indicated that he would like to be the
Treasury member to the NSCIC Working Group, and suggested that
you might indicate him as an appropriate person.
4. We have Included Bill's reco>nnendations regarding the
NSCIC member in. the proposed letter to`Mr. Shultz, and have
also mentioned .Bill , by title only, as an appropriate choice
for the Working Group.
