4. The Director of Information Services; Chief, Information and Privacy
Division, OIS; and Chief, Freedom, Privacy, and Litigation Group of the Directorate
of Operations (DO) briefed Mr. Robert Simmons, a Staff Assistant to Senator Chafee,
regarding evidence of damage done to the DO mission resulting from the Freedom of
Information Act. (U)
8. An Office of Security "audit" was conducted of the storage space used for
sensitive compartmented information at the House Appropriations Defense Subcommittee;
most of the recommendations made in the previous audit have been implemented. (U)

9. Brookings Institution's most recent Conference for Business Executives
on Federal Government Operations concluded on 25 September with its usual
luncheon briefing at the Headquarters building. (U)
10. The Deputy Director for Administration visited with appropriate officials
at the Department of State on 1 October to enlist their cooperation in allowing
the Agency's pay consultants to review selected embassy positions abroad. (U)
