Approved For Release 2007/10/19: CIA-RDP84MOO127R000200050052-5 DCI/ICS 82-4321 16 December 1982 MEMORANDUM FOR: Director of Central Intelligence FROM: Director, Intelligence Community Staff SUBJECT: Your NATO EUCOM Visit REFERENCE: Your Memo, same subject, dated 24 Nov 1982 1. After your and John's meetings with Linc Faurer and Jim Williams I am planning to follow up with them and the Service Intelligence Chiefs to discuss feasible options for improving our intelligence support to NATO and National Forces in Europe. I'll use as a guideline many of the problem areas you uncovered on your recent trip and then follow it up with a visit to the EUCOM Community myself in late January. The result of these efforts will be used to prepare a special addendum to the '85 Program Guidance. Many of the issues will involve hard trade-offs and the impacts should be addressed by the Program Managers and Service Intelligence Chiefs in the FY 1985 POM submission. 2. I feel has captured the key points in his SECDEF draft., for you and I've passed a few thoughts on to him. I believe this, in effect, has developed your notes into the rounded picture you requested in the reference. 3. I will keep you informed of my progress. cc: DDCI Approved For Release 2007/10/19: CIA-RDP84M00127R000200050052-5 Approved For Release 2007/10/19: CIA-RDP84M00127R000200050052-5 SUBJECT: Your NATO EVCOM Visit Distribution (DCI/ICS 82-4321): Original - Addressee 1 - DDCI 1 ER 1 - SA/ICS 1 - ICS/OP Chrono 1 - ICS/OP Subject 1 - ICS Registry DCI/ICS/OP (14 December 1982) Approved For Release 2007/10/19: CIA-RDP84M00127R000200050052-5
