1, was recently security approved for access on
the DCI's Science and Technology Advisory Panel (STAP). The clearance
action is contained in reference, a copy of which is attached.
2. During the meetings which took place on 15 and 16 March at the
Community Headquarters Buildin the Executive Secretary 25X1
of STAP talked wit bout taking a polygraph examination 25X1
covering CI issues volunteered to take the polygraph but
it would be given and how long it may take to complete.
told him he would obtain this information from the Office of 25X1
Security and apprise him of this information.
3. This matter has raised a point as to the Office of Security's
policy with regard to STAP members. It is my understanding that several
STAP members have volunteered to take the polygra ph but that this is not
a mandatory prerequisite for membership on STAP, is a new 25X1
member who has been added to the STAP Committe since it was transferred
to the IC Staff. It would be appreciated if you could provide me with
your understanding of the Office of Security's policy relative to new
STAP members.
4. If you desire to polygrap I please provide me with a
date when this should occur, or if you prefer I can arrange this
directly with the Polygraph Branch.
