A NEW CLASS SUBMARINE HAS BEEN LAUNCHED SINCE
(SWN)
2. REMARKS: THE NEW SUBMARINE IS PROBABLY NUCLEAR POWERED AND IS
ASSIGNED THE NPIC INTERIM DESIGNATOR 112G. THE SUBMARINE IS
CONCEALED BY SCAFFOLDING/FRAMEWORK AND CANVAS AND IS MOORED
OUTBOARD A 975-CLASS RADIOLOGICAL REPAIR BARGE. BECAUSE OF

MEASUREMENTS OF THE SCAFFOLDING/FRAMEWORK AND CANVAS INDICATE
THAT THE SUBMARINE IS NO MORE THAN 95 METERS LONG. THE SAIL,
WHICH IS PARTIALLY VISIBLE THROUGH THE SCAFFOLDING, APPEARS TO
BE POSITIONED FORWARD OF AMIDSHIPS APPROXIMATELY ONE-THIRD OF
THE WAY FROM THE BOW TO THE STERN. THE SCAFFOLDING IS RAISED
AT THE STERN INDICATING THAT THE SUBMARINE HAS AN UPPER
RUDDER. SIMILAR CONCEALMENT ACTIVITY WAS OBSERVED WITH THE
V-II SSN LAUNCHED FROM GORKIY IN THE EARLY-TO-MID 70'S. (SWN)
THE LAST NUCLEAR-POWERED SUBMARINE CONSTRUCTED AT
WAS A C-II SSGN WHICH WAS LAUNCHED
THE LAST SUBMARINE TO BE LAUNCHED HERE WAS
DIESEL-POWERED T-CLASS ATTACK SUBMARINE WHICH WAS LAUNCHED BY
(SWN)
