1. SIGNIFICANCE: MOBILE MISSILE-ASSOCIATED SINGLE-BAY GARAGE
(SBG) COMPONENTS ARE AT THE SILO MATERIALS RECEIVING AREA. THE
PRESENCE OF THESE COMPONENTS COULD INDICATE THAT ANOTHER SBG
WILL BE CONSTRUCTED IN SUPPORT OF THE SS-X-25 PROGRAM; OR THE
COMPONENTS MAY BE THOSE THAT WEPE REMOVED FROM THE RECENTLY
REFURBISHED SBG AT PLESETSK ICBM LAUNCH TEST SITE (LTS) 23

2. REMARKS: AT LEAST FOUR CORNER POSTS, 12 ROOF PANELS, FOUR
VERTICAL WALL STANCHIONS, AND OTHER PROBABLE SBG COMPONENTS ARE
ON THE APRON NEAR THE GANTRY CRANE. NC SBG COMPONENTS WERE
BG AT LTS 23,

ASSOCIATED WITH THE SBG FOR 25X1
THE SS-20 MISSILE SYSTEM, WAS CONSTRUCTED IN JUNE 1982 AND WAS
REFURBISHED IN AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER 1983. (SWN)
THE SBG AT LTS 23 IS THE ONLY SINGLE-BAY SLIDING-ROOF GARAGE AT
PLESETSK. IT HAS BEEN ASSOCIATED ONLY WITH THE SS-X-25 MISSILE
SYSTEM, THE NEW SMALL-SIZE SOLID PROPELLANT ICBM, CURRENTLY
UNDERGOING FLIGHT TESTING AT PLESETSK. (SWN)
THE MOST RECENT LAUNCH OF THE SS-X-25 OCCURRED ON 10 AUGUST AND
WAS ASSESSED TO HAVE BEEN AN INFLIGHT FAILURE (DEFSMAC
S/CQ/688-83, 0333Z, 10 AUG). (S)
