TITLE/SIGNIFICANCE:
ADV-2c AERODYNAP~IC CRLIISE VF.iIICLE
COMMENT:
The ADV-2c is a large aerodynamic ground-launched cruise vehicle
which ;Zas been undergoing flight testing at Kapustin ~Yar Cruise Test Complex
D, Site 3, since April 1 versions of the ADV-2 have been
identified, all having a fuselage with a 1.0-meter diameter.
Flowever, the ADV-2a and ADV-2b were prototypes and the ADV-2c is the version
most likely to be observed deployed. The ADV-2c has a single set of
foreplanes and delta wings

The remainder of the system includes launchers, transporters, checkout van
trailers, and a special-purpose vehicle set. The new type ADV-2 launcher is

The probable role of the ADV-2 is reconnaissance but it may also play a
land-attack role. When the ADV-2c is deployed with operational units, some of
