SIGNIFICANCE: THE CZECHOSLOVAKIAN 152MM SELF-PROPELLED
GUN HOWITZER M-1978 WAS NEWLY OBSERVED IN LIBYA. (SWN)
REMARKS: FIVE OF THESE GUN/HOWITZERS WERE IN FRONT OF A
VEHICLE STORAGE SHED THEY WERE PROBABLY 25X1
DELIVERED TO TARABULUS PORT FACILITIES 25X1
BY A CZECHOSLOVAKIAN KRAKOW-CLASS 25X1
MERSHIP. THE SHIP WAS AT PLOCE PORT FACILITIES 25X1
YUGOSLAVIA,. WHERE FIVE GUN/HOWITZERS ON 25X1
RAILCARS WERE ALSO OBSERVED. THIS WAS THE FIRST OBSERVATION
OF THIS WEAPON OUTSIDE OF CZECHOSLOVAKIA. (SWN)
