Czechoslovakian designed and produced Dana probable 152mm guns/howitzers were on flatcars
in the rail and that serves the port (Figure 3). Four days later, the BLANIK was at Tarabulus Port
Facilities in Libya, where it remained until (Figure 4). On that date, five
Dana guns/howitzers were at Tarabulus Army Barracks Prinn. Although the guns were not actu-
ally observed being loaded at Ploce, their subsequent arrival in Libya and the presence of the
same ship at the Libyan port leave no doubt that the BLANIK was the ship that transported the
weapons. (S/WN)

4. The Czechoslovakian Dana SP gun/howitzer, in production probably since at least Sep-
(Figure 5). The chassis is the TATRA-815 heavy truck chassis probably equipped with three
stabilizer jacks, one on either side of the chassis and one at the rear. A wheeled chassis will give
this weapons system reduced off-road performance but higher road speed than a tracked chassis.
Maintenance on a wheeled vehicle is easier and less frequently required than on a tracked one.
This vehicle mounts a probable Czechoslovakian-produced cannon. (S/WN)
5. The Dana SP gun/howitzer has had limited deployment within Czechoslovakian forces,
which makes it unusual that this piece of equipment has been exported. It has been identified at
the following Czechoslovakian installations (keyed to Figure 5):
Probable production-related problems could account for the limited de to ments of the wea -
ons within Czechoslovakian units.
