MCDONNELL CORPORATION AIRFRAME PLANT,
ST. LOUIS, MO. THE FIRST PROTOTYPE
FLEW IN MAY 1958, SINCE 1961 F-4B
MODELS HAVE BEEN PRODUCED FOR THE
NAVY AND MARINE CORPS; THE RF-4B
RECON MODEL PRODUCED FOR THE MARINE
CORPS; R-4C MODEL PRODUCED FOR THE
AIRFRAME PLANT, CHKALOV NO. 153,
NOVOSIBIRSK, USSR. FISHPOT WERE
PRODUCED AT THIS PLANT FROM 1957-
1963. AN ESTIMATED 1200 AIRCRAFT
WERE PRODUCED INCLUDING THE "B" MODEL,
WHICH WAS THE MODEL MOST WIDELY DE-
PLOYED; AN ADVANCED "C" MODEL; AND

PLACE AT AIRCRAFT ENGINE PLANT NO. 45,
MOSCOW. THE TYPE 31 MILITARY TURBO-
JET ENGINE IS RATED AT APPROXIMATELY
15,000 LBS STATIC THRUST WITH AFTER-
BURNERS.
