THIS IS THE SECOND "2-SITE" PROBABLE LONG RANGE
SAM LAUNCH COMPLEX IDENTIFIED IN THE SOVIET UNION
DEPLOYED OUTSIDE OF THE SARY-SHAGAN ANTIMISSILE
TEST CENTER. THE OTHER "2-SITE" COMPLEX IS
LOCATED AT KURESSAARE ON OSTROV SAAREMAA.

9. MISSION READOUT: A PROBABLE LONG RANGE SAM (PLRS) LAUNCH COMPLEX
HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED AT KAPUSTIN YAR/VLADIMIROVKA MISSILE TEST CENTER. THE
COMPLEX IS LOCATED 12 NM EAST OF KAPUSTIN YAR AND APPROXIMATELY 72 NM ENE
OF THE VOLGOGRAD PLRS LAUNCH COMPLEX. IT IS IN AN EARLY-TO-MID-STAGE OF
CONSTRUCTION AND CONSISTS OF 2 LAUNCH SITES, DESIGNATED A AND B. AND 2
MOUNDED RADAR POSITIONS WITH A CENTRAL CONTROL AT THE TRACKING/GUIDANCE
FACILITY. CONFIRMATION OR NEGATION OF RAILS IS NOT POSSIBLE DUE TO HEAVY
SNOW COVER.
THE LAUNCH SITES AND THE TRACKING/GUIDANCE FACILITY APPEAR NEARLY IDENTICAL
TO LAUNCH SITES B AND C AND THEIR CORRESPONDING RADAR POSITIONS AT THE
VOLGOGRAD PLRS COMPLEX. THE AZIMUTH OF A PERPENDICULAR BISECTOR OF A LINE
CONNECTING CONTROL CENTERS A AND B IS 201 DEGREES (PLUS OR MINUS 5 DEGREES).
THE COMPLEX DOES NOT APPEAR SECURED. A POSSIBLE CONSTRUCTION SUPPORT AREA
IS LOCATED NORTH OF SITE B.
THE COMPLEX CAN BE NEGATED ON
EARLY STAGE OF CONSTRUCTION ONI LAUNCH
POSITIONS B-2, 5 AND 6, BOTH CONTROL CENTERS AND THE TRACKING/GUIDANCE
FACILITY WERE PRESENT. NO MISSILES OR MISSILE-RELATED EQUIPMENT OBSERVED.
