SUBJECT: Reduced Biographic Reporting by FBIS
. This is to advise you that FBIS has been compelled to reduce the
level of funding for the biographic reporting program conducted for
OCR. This is a result of instructions to defer part of our FY 1982
budget. The program includes reporting on the USSR, Eastern Europe,
and Cuba. The funds originally budgeted for this program for FY
1982 have been reduced by approximately half. As a consequence, for
the remainder of the fiscal year publications will be sent to con-
tractors for biographics exploitation on a bimonthly rather than
monthly basis. No sources will be sent to the contractors in February,
April, June, or August, and exploitation of September publican
will be delayed until the beginning of the new fiscal year.
