Security Access Central System (SACS) The Information Systems Security Group, Office of Data Processing (ISSG/ODP), briefed the Chief, Headquarters Security Branch (C/HSB/OS on how the SACS minicomputer is used for access to the Special, and Northside Computer Centers. The ISSO/ODP has access to the Central Badge and Credential System (CENBAD), the database source for SACS, and is able to amend the database to add or delete access to the centers. Also, C/HSB/OS was advised of the intended use of SACS for the implementation of the Document Logging System (DLS) in ODP computer centers and briefed on DLS and how it will be used. Since it is expected that SACS will be used for additional controls, OS is looking into upgrading the SACS computer system. 2. Excess Equipment An excess ODP-owned PDP 11/34 computer system was transferred to the Office of Communications (OC) to host the Communications Equipment Monitoring System (CEMS). The system was originally acquired, at a cost of $149,000, for use as a Technical Analysis and Display System (TADS) graphics workstation. 3. Deputy Director of Central Intelligence (DDCI) Mr. John McMahon (DDCI) toured the Northside Computer Center on 27 May. 4. Wangs for A survey was conducted on 24 May at the Remote Computer Facility to review the present equipment a-yout and find sufficient space for the proposed installation of five Wang Alliance Systems required to support OC. The survey results found adequate space for the proposed equipment without reconfiguring the current systems. GIMS Users Group Hosted by ODP Data Base Systems Branch (DBSB) hosted a meeting of the GIMS Users Group on 1 June. Personnel from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) were in attendance. The main purpose of the meeting was to provide the FBI and the FAA with information about GIMS Software Releases 4.3 and 4.5. 6. Significant Events During Coming Week The Northside Computer Center is scheduled to have a total site chilled water and steam outage from 1800 hours on 3 June 'through 2400 hours on 5 June. The outage, which will require the SAFE system to be powered off, is for a General Services Administration contract to install a new cooling tower cell at the Headquarters power plant and to install new utility lines to the north side of the Headquarters Building. DDI SAFE users have been warned of this outage.
