Excess ADP Equipment A request was submitted to Supply Management Division, Office of Logistics, to release the four remaining excess SAFE Burroughs B6930 computer systems to the General Services Administration for reassignment to other Government agencies. Several agencies have already expressed interest. These systems were declared excess after extensive attempts to place them in the Intelligence Community proved unsuccessful. 2. As of 3 August, there were 53 outstanding advances with a dollar value of 130,365. No accounts were delinquent. (U/AIUO) STAT Headquarters Reg?in A proposed revision of STAT Headquarters Regulation Automated Data Processing Management STAT and Administration, was sent to all DDA Office Directors for review and comments. This revision updates the current Sion. Comments have been requested by COB 12 August. (U/AIUO) STAT RECON Guard Program. Proposed ODP comments on an ORD draft memorandum, entitled "RECON Guard Program Evaluation Phase," were distributed to participating ODP components for coordination. (U/AIUO) CAMS Budget. The Intelligence Community Staff has decided to hold up the transfer of the CAMS budget back to the Agency until after the 1985 OMB Review. This will avoid competing the new 1985 initiative for CAMS with new 1985 Agency initiatives. STAT (U/AIUO) Applications attended the 1983 Conference of the Special Interest Group on Graphics (SIGGRAPH) of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) in Detroit, Michigan. made a presentation at the conference on TACK. His presentation dealt with building a system which allows analysts to merge RAMIS data files with geographic mapping software to enable easy and s histicated analysis. The presentation was very well received. (U) Special Projects Staff The two SAFE-D HETRA high speed line printers were made operational at Arlington Hall Station on 27 July. High speed printer output from SAFE-D is now available at DIA. Installation locations of those printers will be determined by the SAFE-D Customer Support Group and will commence on 15 August. (U) STAT As reported last week, the Model 204 Data Base Management System was loaded onto the SAFE Development Processor. Several minor problems have been identified and are being resolved with no project impact. (U) Forty-two Delta Data 7260T terminals, four for Xerox 2700 laser printers and five Data Royal printers were delivered to five SAFE contractor sites in preparation for connection to the unclassified SAFE Development System. This connection will be through leased telephone lines into the Northside Computer Center. The breakdown is as follows: Delta Data 7260T Xerox 2700 Data Royal Logicon 7 1 2 Infodata 7 1 0 Chase, Rosen, & Wallace 10 1 2 Geodynamics 2 0 1 CSPO 8 1 0 IBM 6 0 0 ODP/CSS 2 0 0 STAT Processing Xerox on-site customer engineer will be available for the Computer Center effective 31 July. The engineer will be STAT assigne to the midnight shift to perform preventative and remedial maintenance. This will minimize disruptions to the Xerox 9700 cut paper machines during periods of peak workloads. SPD hosted the Washington area VM Users Group (HILLGANG) meeting at Headquarters with almost 200 attendees from outside the Agency. The program went very smoothly, thanks to excellent support from Admin and Security. IBM made presentations on System Query Language/Data System (SQL/DS) relational data base system and Interactive Systems Programming Facility (ISPF), while Mitre Corporation discussed performance measurement of Professional Office System (PROFS), which is IBM's electronic mail system.
