The task of developing a dictionary of standard data
element names to be used during the design of ACIS has been
completed. There are 626 data elements in the dictionary. The
dictionary has been successfully loaded into the Data Catalog 2
and reports extracted. The dictionary includes: (1) data
element name; (2) description; and, (3) attributes, including
length, format, and justification.

MEMORANDUM FOR: Deputy Director for Administration
Director o Data Processing
SUBJECT: ODP Report for Week Ending 30 December 1983
1. Automated Compensation and Information System (ACIS)
The Office of Data Processing (ODP) has received a
letter, via the Office of Finance (OF), from Price Waterhouse
offering its assistance to the ACIS Project. This assistance
would be in determining the suitability of its Department of
Defense (DOD) payroll system design for use on ACIS. We are in
the process of studying its proposal and developing criteria to be
used for the evaluation.
2. Case Applicant Processing Evaluation Report (CAPER)
The Office o ations (OC) has begun installing
the isolators for the minicomputer. Installation should
be complete by 30 December, thereby providing the Office of
Personnel (OP) with full remote terminal support for the CAPER
System.
