EOD'd for ADMIN/LOGS on 28 November. returned from ional assignment in DDI/PMS to PSG on 28 November. (U) Consulting and Assistance Group STAT Invalid characters were detected on the data base on 20 November. PD personnel worked with ED and SPD to resolve the source of the involved characters. The problem was traced to the line that filters in the T-Bar. There was no loss of STAT data. The = data base was down to the user for two days. DBCC iontinue to process a daily data trace analysis of STAT the ata base for several days to ensure the problem has STAT been fixed. (U) The Trouble Desk handled a total of 695 phone calls for the week of 21-27 November; 500 incoming calls, 195 outgoing calls and 93 Wang calls. Of the incoming calls 128 reported STAT terminal problems. (U) The six week Automated Data Processing Accelerated Curriculum (ADPAC) was completed by 15 students on 18 November. The Training & Information Branch r v' d the STAT student sponsors with final evaluations. (U) The Training and Information Branch coordinated the enrollment of 10 ODP personnel in the IBM Project Management course. Special transportation was arranged for round-trip STAT travel t Crystal City from on 29 November-2 December. (U) Intelligence Systems Group The first major enhancement to the CIA SAFE Early Capability, Delivery 1, was implemented on 21 November. To ensure operational stability of the enhancement, FBIS was the only message source included in the initial implementation and trial periods (21-25 November). The remaining seven message sources are being included in the Delivery 1 im lementation at STAT the rate of one per day beginning 29 November. (U) IBM implemented a fix to SADDE software to correct the reoccurring SADDE failures on 23 November. The fix was applied to the module which interfaces CMS with PL1 programs. Since installing SADDE has not had a failure related to that STAT software. (U) Hardware changes will be completed on 30 November for the SAFE-D system and 1 December for the SAFE-C system. The meeting was most beneficial. AIM has some very attractive features: a) system-to-system interface; and, b)automatic error recovery. We also discussed again our present thinking of using NOMAD2 as a VM data base for T&A collection. We are looking into the possibility of merging the existing NOMAD2 architecture with AIM for the system-to-system interface. Last week we tried a simple exercise with each ACIS team member calling up a simple T&A menu for the purpose of testing response time. We one had about 20 users but the STAT response was excellent. (U) The LIMS Quality Assurance Contractor (CTEC) delivered the final Requirements and Design Document for the Configuration Item Index Enhancements to the Quality Assurance Status Accounting System. Programming has been completed on the first phase, and Configuration Item Index Reports are now being produced from QASAS rather than WANG. Programming on the library functions and distribution lists is delayed due to lack STAT of resources for GIMS programming. I (U) The award fee for LIMS Quality Assurance Contractor (CTEC) has been determined, and a memorandum statin such will be STAT forwarded to the Contracting Officer. ~(NO CONTRACT) Configuration Management Branch (CMB) personnel provided assistance to SAFE Project representatives in their evaluation of the PANVALET-VM System for baselined software storage. Two problems have surfaced; multiple accesses to PANVALET and the STAT Cross Reference Sort Program abend. (SPD) is trouble shooting the problem of accesses and Mike Boushell (Pansophics technician) is checking out the sort problem. These problems should be resolved next week and testing will STAT continue. (U) A draft of the updated TADS Five-Year Plan was distributed for OSWR review on 23 November. Pending finalization of the budget plan and integration of comments, the document will be STAT distributed for ODP internal review on 1 December. F----](U) On 22 November, Quality Systems, Incorporated (QSI), briefed OP on the efficiency and effectiveness of Project Caper. This was followed by a QSI recommendation for improvements and enhancements. The briefing was well received, and OP will review and prioritize the proposed recommendations STAT so work can continue with minimum delay. ~~(U) ODP is pre ared to install the OP Microdata Minicomputer STAT in Room 3N08, Building, on 1 December as specified in the CAPER Instal ation Plan. As anticipated, there was a reduction of SSR positions (four in 1984 and three in 1985). Also, there were Congressionally directed reductions in both 1984 and 1985 for external assistance (contractual and maintenance services) and in the inflation factor. The DDA adjusted our FTE levels to provide in 1984 and 1985 for the level of temporary part-time support we used in 1983. Overall, our non-personal service funds were reduced by 3.6% in 1984 and 2.2% in 1985 from the levels in our OMB Budget. These reductions do not apply to the CAMS funds STAT which have recently been transferred to our budget. (U/AIUO-ODP ONLY) Finance. (U/AIUO) Processing Services Group Wang technicians have com leted installation of OC's first STAT Wang Alliance System in the DAC. Based on a GIM-II DBMS, SEB constructed a CRYSTAL mode f the ICSOP data STAT base, precursor to the LIMS BOC. COMIREX Automated Management System (CAMS) The systems integration sole-source contract was presented to the Contracts Review Board on 22 November. The decision of the Board was to grant a sole-source contract to Synectics Corporation for three years. There will be an annual reevaluation for the renewal of the contract during this three- year period. 2.
