SUBJECT: C-Vault Construction
REFERENCE: Memo from C/RECD to C/BSD dated 20 Sept 1978,
Subj: Construction in the Gymnasium Area
1. After many delays, the General Services Adminis-
tration has advised us that bids for the project to enlarge
transformer Vault C will be opened on 26 June 1980. This
would mean that construction could start in the basement
area next to the gymnasium on or around 1 August 1980. As
noted in our original memorandum, the shower rooms in Room
BE28 will have to be demolished in order to move two large
transformers into the area. It is estimated that the room
will be unusable for a period of six months. In addition, it
is expected that the running track will have to be closed
intermittently for a few days at a time to allow heavy
equipment to be moved into the area.
2. We will be in a better position to give you more
accurate details once the contract has been awarded and the
contractor furnishes us with his construction schedule. We
solicit your cooperation in notifying users of these facilities
of the inconveniences they can expect. It is requested that
we be furnished the name of a responsible official who can be
contacted at the appropriate times to insure that the track
and shower facilities are closed down when required. Please
contact C/HEB, for further details of this
