ANNUAL REPORT 1979
1. AUTHORITY
The Security Advisory Group, USSR (SAG) was establis-'red
with the endorsement of members of the Security Committee o
January 24, 1979. Security Committee memorandum SECOM-D-43:=
applies. The mission of the SAG is to advise and-assist
the Security Committee and the Department of State in, deve--'
loping the security policies and procedures to protect U.S.
personnel and installations in the U.S.S.R.

- SAG meets on an as-needed basis. Eight meeting z
took place in 1979, the first on March 9.
A team of SAG members visited Moscow, Kiev, and
Leningrad September 18-26, 1979.

- housing for security personnel;
