SUBJECT: Training Federal Employees in Fuel-Efficient Driving
Techniques

1. In reply to the referenced memorandum, the following information is
submitted on the number of drivers in each category an_d the training program
of energy conservation at the Central Depot (CD):
a. Number of employees who have full time duty as vehicle
operators. 9
b. Employees who require a vehicle in performance of
their official duties. 8
c. A71 other employees who use a vehicle in the perfor-
mance of official duties on an incidental basis. 30
2. The film "Running on Empty" was .al so: shown to all CD personnel in
February 1980 and the film "Challenge of the Future" was shown in May 1980 as
milestones in our Management By Objective program on energy conservation.
These films were obtained on loan from the Department of Energy.
3. In the future films can be obtained and other types of training arranged
when required. _
