KKK-A-811 KKK-A-850 January 3, 1977 Sedans and Station Wagons (Internal Combustion Engine Powered) This standard was approved by the Commissioner, Federal Supply Service, General Services Admin- istration, for the use of all Federal agencies. SI. SCOPE, PURPOSE AND CLASSIFICATION S1.1 Scone. This document covers new commercially produced four wheeler, two wheel driven (4x2) passenger automobiles, which are completely ecuipped for operation and subject to the statutory price limitations. Automobiles procured under this star:jard shall be warranted by the contractor as specified in section 53.1. $1.2 Coverage . The automobiles covered by this standard are listed by cables. Additions systems and equipment not appearing under the standard selection of au.:o- mobiles are listed in the "Addendum," (pages 10 and 11). Le, but is intended to cover only those generally used by the Federal Government. Additional requirements and deviations of each vehicle are subject ro approval. The purpose of this document is to achieve a practical de,ree of standardization in the Federal Government automobile fleet. Phis standara also establishes classification of automobiles, general requirements, and the equipment authorized for Government use. S1.5 Application. This standard is intended to be used for competitive procurement of new administrative Passenger and law enforcement vehicles. The additional systems and equipment specified comply with Public Law 91-423, dated September 26, 1970. Procure- ment shall be in acqordance to the Federal Property Management Regulations (FPMR). This standard establishes the identity of commercial manufacturer's, cargo/passenger carrying trucks completely equipped for operation, with the additional systems and equipment authorized for Government vehicles, to achieve a practical degree of standardization.. 51.2 Scope.
