Approved For Release 2001/08/09 : CIA-RDP85-00988R00.0400060005-8 4 MAR 1914 MEMORANDUM FOR: Chief, Plans & Programs Staff, OL SUBJECT Agency Conversion to the Metric System Deputy Director of Logistics 1. I am not in complete agreement with your papers. First of all, I have just returned from a country which was in the process of conversion, and it was being done in a quite orderly way--not chaotic. People had taken it upon themselves-- prior to the time the Government actually implemented the plan-- to convert slowly and quietly. There was no problem; and, as a matter of fact, I found it stimulating mentally. 2. As for the objective--before we go to other Government agencies, suggest we do some in-house research, es- pecially in Lo istics to see what this means. Then suggest we talk to about it because he and Julian probably can give us quite a bit of the scoop concerning other Government departments and agencies. cc: C/RECD Approved For Release 2001/08/09 : CIA-RDP85-00988R0004000600018
