MEMORANDUM FOR: Directorate Metric Coordinators
SUBJECT Things Metric
1. Attached at Annex 1 is an announcement of
a further Metric Training Seminar to be held at the
NSB in September.
2. I attended the most recent meeting of the
Inter-agency Metrication Subcommittee on 17 May.
Minutes have not yet been made available, but the
meeting accomplished little exldept to reassert how
little progress has been made. A new effort to breathe
life into individual interest panels, now referred
to as divisions, is under way. I will contact inter-
ested units when I hear of meetings. Would you inform
me where you contacted directly so that we can k
these efforts coordinated.
3. I picked up some handouts on the Federal
Register Notice that may upgrade your copy and attach
them at Annex 2.
4. Our metric effort continues to go so well
that I'm tempted not to mention it. It suggests that
the less direction an effort gets, the more it is
likely to prosper. Well enough.
