Real Estate and Construction Division's satellite
communications requirements in the period 1982-1987 are as
follows, as we perceive them now:
Real Property System
1. Number of stations requiring service
simultaneously:
25X1A
2. Service required on full-time, part-time
shared or on-call basis: Shared and on-call basis.
3. Frequency of use: When a station or base
acquires or disposes of real property--purchase,
assignment, lease, rental--and or when occupancy
changes, terms of occupancy change, or other material
facts occur which warrant noting in the record of
Agency property holdings. Estimated average frequency
of use--once per month; extimated average hours per
day: zero hours 2 minutes.
4. When will service be required at each
location: when the Office of Communications is
in position to provide it.
5. What data rates will be transmitted: The
standard for communications and data technology--
assume it will be T-1 rate (1.544 million bits per
second) or successor standard.

6. Will service be required both ways: Yes-
to large stations/bases; No - to small stations and
bases. Service from field to Headquarters will b?e5X1A
sufficient from small stations and bases.
