(b) Third World Instabilities
1. The Executive Committee will meet on Wednesday, 29 October 1980,
from 1500 to-1630 hours in the DCI Conference Room. Scheduled for
consideration at this meeting are the first two of the foreign policy
issues identified by the long-range planning process: China and Sino-
Soviet Relations and Third World Instabilities. Please review the
.attached issue papers in preparation for this session. Your special
attention is invited to the sections concerning assumptions, problem
statements, and alternative courses of action.
2, The next long-range planning sessions will be held on
5 November from 1500 to 1630 and concern-Traditional Allies
and Competition for World Resources and Markets. Papers concerning
these issues will be distributed to the Executive Committee by
29 October.
