Dear Larry:
In accordance with your request, East Asia Division in the Deputy
Directorate of Operations has re-reviewed 383-387 JUL contained in Foreign
Relations of the United States (FRUS), Volume VII, 1951, Korea and China.
EA Division concurs that all references to Mr. Li Tsung Li can remain in the
document and do not need to be deleted with the exception of the red-outlined
portions which the State Department has marked for excision.
CIA believes that there are sensitive foreign affairs and privacy
implications attached to the description of in this portion of the FRUS
volume, especially within the context of the outline of his role during the
Marshall-Li talks. We, therefore, recommend that his name not be left in
383-387 JUL.

Dear Larry:
This is to acknowledge receipt of the following four pages of Volume XIII,
Indochina, 1952-54, of the Foreign Relations of the United States series: 211 JAN,
'292 BER, 326 BER and 361 BER. We requested re-review of this material in its
final form since some requested excisions had not been made as originally requested.
In the case of 292 BER this was the first opportunity we had to verify the sani-
tized version. Our re-review of the remaining four sanitized pages shows that all
requested excisions had been made.
With the verification of the four pages mentioned above, we now have com-
pleted our review of FRUS, Volume XIII, 1952-54. This. includes all individual
documents intended for publication in Volume XIII which you have sent to us for
review as of this date. This letter provides our clearance of Volume XIII, subject
to the withholding of documents or portions of documents as we have requested and
contingent upon your assurance that there is no further material of interest to
this Agency to be included in Volume XIJJ that has not been reviewed by us.
