The referenced letter is, in our opinion, a serious violation
of cover security. It concerns a request to the General Counsel
by a private attorney that the former identify 25X1
a covert employee of this Office, as a federal employee. The purpose
of this request is to provide employment information for a civil suit
againstE Our records also indicate that 25X1
former wife,___________________ who has en a ed the attorney an 2ox1
writer of this letter, has exposed true employment 25X1
previously, even to the extent of having a legal paper served at
the C.I.A. Headquarters Building. At the same time, we are assured
that our employee has not been responsible for exposing his true
employment and that he has responded to each legal action pursued by
wife, correctly and within the law. On the other hand,
as the former wife of two different covert employees 25X1-
of this Agency, should have been aware of the necessity to protect ~~
