I appreciate receiving your letter of 26 May and I regret the delay in
responding to same.
You should be aware that our General Counsel forwarded a letter to the
Honorable A. Melvin McDonald, U.S. Attorney,:District of Arizona, in Phoenix.
The letter was forwarded pursuant to the requirement of Executive Order 12333
to report possible violations of federal criminal law. Our letter further
states that the Internal Security Agency seal featured in an advertisement
and its calling card may constitute a violation of 50 U.S.C. S503m (regarding
misuse of the CIA's seal). Finally, our letter requested that Mr. McDonald
contact the Internal Security Agency to ensure that future advertisements do
not mislead readers into inferring a connection between the Internal Security
Agency and the U.S. Government.
