Dear Mr. Casey:
I request that John J. Parisi, a member of the minority
professional staff of the House Committee on Government Operations,
be granted clearance to receive sensitive compartmented information
(SCI) in preparation for and for participation in hearings on the
role of the intelligence community in federal government efforts to
interdict drug smuggling.
These hearings are to be held on Monday, November 14, 1983, and
Wednesday, November 16, 1983, by the Subcommittee on Government Infor-
mation, Justice, and Agriculture. Subcommittee Chairman Glenn English
has given notice that these hearings will be closed in order to
receive national security information. As the minority professional
staff member assigned to that Subcommittee, it will be necessary_ for
John to have such clearance in order to continue to participate in
the Subcommittee's oversight of federal government efforts to interdict
drug smuggling.
John currently holds security clearance to the level of Top
Secret, which was granted by the Committee on Government Operations,
after a full field investigation conducted by the Office of Personnel
on January 21, 1983. John's Social Security s STAT
and his date and place of birth are and
ichigan, respectively. 25X1
Your cooperation will be appreciated and with every good
wish, I am
