SUBJECT: Reprogramming of FY 1983 Funds
1. Your approval is requested to reprogram the following
Office of Logistics funds:
a. Logistics management requests that 0 be
reprogrammed from SOC 3107 of th
(FAN 78-1014) to the LIMS project FAN 78-1015) for the
purchase of terminals and line printers and to the
Procurement Division (FAN 78-1030) to finance the rental
cost of Wang word processors. LIMS requires $69,000 and
the Procurement Division needs $46,000.
b. The Printing and Photography Division (FAN 78-1141)
requests internal reprogramming of $103,000 for the rental
of a COM Recorder in support of the 4C program and $277,000
for additional prepress page makeup terminals. These
increases will be offset by a reduction of $346,000 in
printing paper supply inventory and a net reduction
of $34,000 in budgeted requirements for repairs and main-
tenance of printing and Agency copier equipment.
c. Real Estate and Construction Division originally
budgeted funds for powerplant repairs and maintenance
through GSA (SOC 2501); however, since the operation of the
Uninterruptible Power Supply has been in place under
contract, $125,000 needs to be reprogrammed to finance the
contract (SOC 2540) and $67,000 is required for the purchase
of equipment. These fun to be offset by a reduction
of $192,000 in SOC 2501
 2. The Logistics Services Division (LSD) also requests that
several of their numerous FANs be con$olidated into one.
Specifically, FANs 78-1065 (Administrative Stock - NPIC), 78-1071
(Machine Supplies), and 78-1072 (Operational Supplies) will be
consolidated into FAN 78-1070 (Personnel Supplies) and FANs
78-1101 (Work Orders GSA General), 78-1102 (Work Orders GSA
Special), 78-1103 (GSA Safety Projects), and 78-1104 (Work Orders
GSA Service) will be consolidated into FAN 78-1100 (Maintenance
and Facilities - General). This consolidation will reduce the
number of LSD's FANs by seven, yielding a more manageable control
and review process by the Chief of the Division.
