pp roved For Release 2008/01/15: CIA-RDP85B01152R000600770002-8 NCB be~-~ices reaerai buppiy Au nistration and Services Washir.` in, DC 20406 OCT 19B3 Mr. Harry E. Fitzwater Deputy Director of administration Central Intelligence Agency Washington, DC 20505 The GSA fleet management program is undergoing dramatic change. State-of-the-art business systems are being instituted to deliver service in more efficient and convenient grays. First we plan to trim down to 56 "Fleet Management Centers", as shown on the enclosure. This consolidated network will provide the same level of service as received from GSA's 96 motor pools. Customers will no longer drive to motor pool facilities to seek automotive diagnosis, maintenance, and fueling services. GSA regional maintenance control centers will provide telephonic diagnosis and authorization of repairs. Drivers will be directed to the nearest approved commercial vendor to obtain needed services. GSA mobile inspectors will ensure contractor performance meets our safety and reliability standards. A virtually maintenance-free passenger fleet may result from a new shortened 2 and 3 year vehicle replacement cycle test. Local snort-term passenger vehicle needs also will be fulfilled through the commercial sector. We endorse the Administration's private sector reliance policy and will limit in-house dispatch service to locations where commercial coverage is not feasible. GSA rental company contractors will be strategically located to meet customer requirements. With these initiatives in place, GSA can close 40 motor pools with no interruption in service. Our regional program representatives will work closely with your local officials during implementation. You should expect more convenient, efficient, and appealing transportation services from the revitalized Interagency Fleet t-ianag., ;:ent System. GSA is posturing the program to acc canodate new business. We are available and would welcome the opportunity to deliver lour agency more comprehensive fleet management support. Sincerely, L l L.- 11l'i'QiELL Approved For Release 2008/01/15: CIA-RDP85BO1152R000600770002-8 Approved For Release 2008/01/15: CIA-RDP85BOl152R000600770002-8 CURRENT MOTOR POOL AND SUBPOOL LOCATIONS PROPOSED FLEET MANAGEMENT CENTER AND SUBCENTER LOCATIONS REGION 1 Portland, ME Boston, MA Providence, RI Hartford, CT Concord, NH (sub) Brooklyn, NY Newark, NJ Atlantic City, NJ Albany, NY Buffalo, NY San Juan, PR Syracuse, NY (sub) REGION 3 Baltimore, MD Pittsburgh, PA Harrisburg, PA Philadelphia, PA Richmond, VA Norfolk, VA Huntington, WV Atlanta, GA Columbia, SC Jacksonville, FL Nashville, TN Memphis, TN Raleigh, NC .Miami, FL Tampa, FL Mobile, AL Jackson, MS Louisville, KY Lexington, KY Kennedy Space Ctr., FL Bay St. Louis, MS (sub) REGION 1 Waltham, MA Manchester, NH (sub) Hartford, CT (sub) Brooklyn, NY Belle Meade, NJ Albany, NY Buffalo, NY San Juan, PR Atlantic City, NJ (sub) Pittsburgh, PA Philadelphia, PA Richmond, VA Huntington, WV Norfolk, VA (sub) Atlanta, CA Nashville, TN Raleigh, NC Miami, FL Mobile, AL Louisville, KY Kennedy Space Ctr., FL Bay St. Louis, MS (sub) Approved For Release 2008/01/15: CIA-RDP85BOl152R000600770002-8 Approved For Release 2008/01/15: CIA-RDP85B01152R000600770002-8 REGION 5 REGION 5 Chicago, IL Detroit, MI Cincinnati, OH Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN Milwaukee, WI Lansing, MI Cleveland, OH Columbus, OH Indianapolis, IN Duluth, MN Kansas City, MO Wichita, KS Omaha, NE Des Moines, IA St. Louis, MO REGION 7 Fort Worth, TX New Orleans, LA Houston, TX Oklahoma City, OK Little Rock, AR San Antonio, TX El Paso, TX Albuquerque, NM Gallup, NM Sante Fe, NM Farmington, NM Las Cruces, NM Tulsa, OK Lubbock, TX Austin, TX Baton Rouge, LA Johnson Space Ctr., TX (suh) Muskogee, OK (sub) Amarillo, TX (sub) Dallas, TX (sub) San Marcos, TX (sub) Chicago, IL Detroit, MI Dayton, OH Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN REGION 6 Kansas City, MO Omaha, NE St. Louis, M0 Fort Worth, TX New Orleans, LA Houston, TX Oklahoma City, OK Little Rock, AR San Antonio, TX El Paso, TX Albuquerque, NM Gallup, NM Johnson Space Ctr., TX (sub) Farmington, NM (sub) Approved For Release 2008/01/15: CIA-RDP85BOl152R000600770002-8 Approved For Release 2008/01/15: CIA-RDP85B01152R000600770002-8 REGION 8 REGION 8 Denver, CO Grand Junction, CO Salt Lake City, UT Odgen, UT Casper, WY Billings, MT Helena, MT Bismarck, ND Vernal, UT (sub) Great Falls, MT (sub) REGION 9 San Francisco, CA Oakland, CA Redwood City, CA Los Angeles, CA Riverside, CA Las Vegas, NV Reno, NV San Diego, CA Yuma, AZ Sacramento, CA Redding, CA Honolulu, HI Phoenix, AZ Tucson, AZ Holbrook, AZ Santa Maria, CA Fresno, CA Goldstone, CA (sub) Parker, AZ (sub) Flagstaff, AZ (sub) REGION 10 Seattle, WA Vancouver, WA Spokane, WA Boise, ID Anchorage, AK Medford, OR Fairbanks, AK (sub) NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION Arlington, VA Bethesda, MD Bladensburg, MD Suitland, MD Approved For Release Denver, CO Grand Junction, CO Salt Lake City, UT Casper, WY Billings, MT Bismarck, ND REGION 9 San Francisco, CA Los Angeles, CA Las Vegas, NV San Diego, CA Sacramento, CA Honolulu, HI Phoenix, AZ Holbrook, AZ Santa Maria, CA REGION 10 Seattle, WA Vancouver, WA Spokane, WA Boise, ID Anchorage, AK Medford, OR Fairbanks, AK (sub) Arlington, VA (2)
