Fitzwater Deputy Director for Administration /OD /s U-1 El E SUBJECT: Weekly Report for Period Ending 26 August 1983 1. Progress reports on tasks assigned by DCI/DDCI: None pending. 2. Items/events of interest: a. The first meeting of the CIA Traffic Advisory Committee was held on 25 August. Attendees at the meeting included representatives of the Virginia Department of Highways and Transportation, George Washington Memorial Parli,ay, National Capital Planning Commission, Fairfax County Office of Transportation, and the McLean Citizens Association. . b.. Representatives of the Office of Logistics met with Vienna Technology Park Associates on 19 August to clarify the Memorandum of Understanding concerning the maintenance and operation 01&0) of Building and to.negotiate a reduction in the present lease. This reduction of about $100,000 per year will help offset the cost for the NO contract for which upgrades the standard for cleaning and maintenance. c. The Office of Security is pursuing the investigation of seven media leaks. d. The Language School, Office of Training and Education, began the first Finnish class in more than a decade with two full-time students. f. The procedure transferring the four remaining excess SAFE Project Burroughs B6930 computer systems to the control of the General Services Administration was completed on 17 August. This action completes the Agency's involvement in the redistribution of the excess Burroughs computer systems. The DDA, ADDA, and representatives from the Office of Logistics are scheduled to meet with the Acting Regional Administrator, National Capital Region of the General Services Administration (GSA), on 29 August at Headquarters to discuss services available from GSA. b. On 30 August the Office of Security is scheduled to provide instruction and training on combination locks to the Staff Director and two staff members of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
